Steven is an all round awesome guy, suddenly diagnosed with Throat Cancer last month. Help him during his journey.
Canterbury
Steven recently moved out of his parents house to go flatting with other people living with intellectual disabilities. He has been very active in the community he takes his rabbit "Milo" to visit the elderly, people with Dementia and pre schools as a therapy and way of connecting. Steven went to meditation weekly having found a interest in Buddhism, he loves having a few too many beers at the local bar, horror movies, tattoos and rock music, he is a genuine guy with a great sense of humour and what I would call a pure heart.
After enduring many scary symptoms and numerous visits to medical professionals the shocking news was he has Throat Cancer. Steven has strength of character and had a tracheotomy among other procedures without complaint. His life had turned upside down and yet he still endeavours to stay strong in front of his Mum who has been constantly by his side.
Steven is not having invasive treatment, his plan is to be comfortable as the Cancer is advanced and was undetected for some time. His parents are retired and he is a much loved only child, obviously difficult is an understatement for the situation.
Anything that can help Steven make any wishes come true or provide him with what he and his family need will be the least we can do for such a wonderful person.
I am lucky to have met Steven at work, he is an inspiration as he never says a bad word of anyone and is such a genuine positive person. This is the least I can do for him.
What Steven uses the funds for will be of his choice. His Mum will of course support him. Hopefully he will be physically strong enough to enjoy some activities there was a plan for Skydiving prior to this news but all dependent on what Steven wants and is able to do.
Thank you for supporting so far 22 August 2017
The page has now been moderated as I am away in Ireland at present so took a bit longer. It can now be made public. I'll catch up with Steven when I get back and update on what he may have in mind to do!
Here is a photo of him with Dougie who was living with dementia, Steven had a special connection with him as you can see from their expressions.
