Help us to keep our classes for elders FREE.

Newtown, Wellington

Loneliness is twice as unhealthy as obesity for older people. While there are many services tending to the physical health needs of our grandparents, there are few that specifically support their social and emotional wellbeing. Voice Arts is one of them, delivering a programme of free social drama classes in neighbourhoods throughout Wellington.

Voice Arts brings laughter, play and performance (back) into the lives of older people through classes led by experienced theatre practitioners. 65 or 95, introvert or extrovert - these classes are accessible for all, including people with hearing loss, mobility impairments or those living with dementia.

We are seeking funding to help keep our classes in Newton, Karori and Petone free and weekly. Please help by donating. Thank you!

About us

We develop creative story-making and performance projects. Our work is accessible to all and facilitates active participation, self-discovery, connection and wellbeing.

Use of funds

The income will go directly to the fabulous facilitators who deliver these classes. They bring exceptional skill, alongside enormous compassion into the class each week ensuring that participants leave better than when they arrived, every time!
