Help Pirate City Rollers' All Scars get to the Beach Brawl Tournament
Auckland
Help this group of athletic women represent the Pirate City Rollers and Auckland as the first New Zealand roller derby team to compete in a tournament in the United States!
The All Scars are the Pirate City Rollers top-level travel team, made up of a squad of 20 powerful women. Formed in 2006, the Pirate City Rollers is a league of firsts. As the first league established outside of Northern Hemisphere, the Pirates went on to become the country’s first member of the sport’s international governing body, the WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) - the same year they were crowned champions of the Derby Royale national tournament.
As one of the top competitive leagues in New Zealand, the Pirate City Rollers are ready to again take it to the next level after being invited to compete at the 2015 Beach Brawl tournament in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Beach Brawl is three days of tough international competition against teams from Canada, Sweden, Finland, England, Norway, Colombia, and throughout the United States - and the Pirates are the first New Zealand team ever to compete there!
Help us get to America and show these teams the best roller derby competitors New Zealand has to offer! In competing at Beach Brawl, the Pirates will also meet the criteria for the league to become internationally ranked by WFTDA - a major achievement for New Zealand roller derby!
Thank you for your help, and for supporting New Zealand roller derby and the Pirate City Rollers!
I am the Co-captain of the All Scars for the 2015 season
