More support groups for Canterbury
PND Canterbury would like to run more support groups for the mothers of Canterbury

PND Canterbury run a very successful support group here in Christchurch. We are not DHB funded. Unfortunately we do have a waiting list and in creating more groups we could combat this waiting list very quickly replicating what we already have. We have a very dedicated pool of volunteers that help provide childcare while our Mums discuss topics such as self cares, sleep. eating properly, goal setting, keeping things simple etc

I have been involved in PND Canterbury for 7 years. I had postnatal depression 9 years ago and wanted to give back to Canterbury. I am the Coordinator for the support group which has been running for 5 years and the PND Playgroup which is 15mths old , both which I started with a passion to help support Mums through their journeys.
About us
Our vision for our community is Mentally Healthy Parents. We provide community based peer support and assistance, offer early intervention and preventative services and raise public awareness of perinatal mental illness.
Use of funds
Funds will be used for venue hire weekly, facilitator costs, police vetting, resources for the children, folders for the mums in group, essentials,nappys, wipes, cleaning equipment and office photocopying for group topics.
