Can you help? Reuben O'Neill is a 14 year old boy looking for donation / funding so he can get to a International Bag-piping competition.
Canterbury
Hello My name is Reuben O'Neill I am 14 years old.
I live in St Martin’s Christchurch and I play the Highland bagpipes.
I have been learning the bagpipes for about four years now, I started out in the Caledonian pipe band three years ago, and was a part of the band until last year when I received a partial scholarship to attend St Andrews College here in Christchurch to join their champion Grade 2 Pipe Band. To my great surprise I have been selected by the head of the Bag-piping division at the College to play in Glasgow Scotland at the World Bag piping Competitions in August this year!
In 2013 St Andrew's college won the under 18 / juvenile Competition and came home champions, this year we are going back to defend our title. I would really love to be a part of this group as I work diligently on all things piping, ( as well as my studies).
I need to independently raise $6,400; mum and I also fund-raise as part of the College group, It looks like we are currently on target. Is there a way you can help me? Any donation is so appreciated !
You may have heard me at St Martin’s New World busking as another way of fundraising to help get me to this competition.
I have set up a face book page “Bagpiper - Reuben O'Neill ” and that way I can bring you all on the journey with me, it is also a place I hope to gain exposure and market myself to play at more weddings, funerals , birthdays and other events like the local Bike races here in Christchurch that I support at every given opportunity.
Thank-you very much for considering my appeal for funds, sponsorship or help, I simply can’t do it without you.

I am Reuben's mum, Jodie. Hi, Reuben has worked extremely hard over the last three years while learning to play the bagpipes and within competition with his 1st band and his solo efforts. Due to his commitment, diligence and talent he has been selected to represent St Andrews College in Scotland this year.
I have set up this page to help Reuben gain exposure for funding, support or sponsorship so he can attend the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow in August 2015 with St Andrews College Pipe Band.
Reuben has just began his 1st year at St Andrews College here in Christchurch and is part of the St Andrews Pipe Band, he has also been asked to represent and play for the St Andrews Grade 2 and Juvenile pipe band in Scotland this year, this is not something we were expecting until perhaps 2016 and beyond. It is a great honor but also a massive financial comment .
In the past Reuben has fund-raised independently to support all his Bag-piping commitments of playing at local and national competitions, he plays at functions, busks, and works toward these goals regularly however needs financial support for the on-going costs to achieve this amazing opportunity.
In order for Reuben to play with his band he is needing some help with this mission of him fulfilling his Piping dream.
You can follow Reuben on his face book page “Bagpiper - Reuben O'Neill “ where we will keep you updated on all news and progress. Please feel free to share these pages.
