Caroline (39yrs) mother of 2 furbabies, Stage 4, advanced - Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer, help her BEAT cancer and live!
Wellington
Caro's Story, by Caro.
I had a dream, but this was not it!
Struggling to shake off what I thought was just the common flu, I decided to head to the doctors and get it looked at.
A few consultations later, at only 39yrs old I was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer, Hodgkins Lymphoma, stage 4 advanced.
Devastated, in shock and lost! Having seen the PET Scan of my whole body riddled with Cancer, left my little family and I lost for words but also, scared of what was up ahead.
It's been two months since being diagnosed and I am currently undergoing ABVD chemotherapy.
After the first hit of chemotherapy, I ended up in hospital for a week! My body reacted and everything became inflamed. I had my parents come to stay, my fiance by my side constantly and before the end of the week, I had zero sick leave and a few days of annual leave left, and I only just started! This is not what I had planned!
Before chemo, my fiance and I had planned to be working through this and taking the odd sick leave and annual leave here and there, but after the 2nd hit of chemo it's now becoming more realistic that my body is struggling to keep up and I’m not going to be able to work for very much longer. I'm looking at 6-8 mths of Chemotheraphy.
Living with this is not easy and nothing in life prepares you for this trauma.
My loss of wages of not being able to work, puts a financial strain to my journey something we were not prepared for.
I've lost my independence to look after my family and now we live off my fiance's source of income.
Thank you for your generosity and support!! Every little bit will go a long way.
I am caroline's life partner, fiance.
Funds will be used to pay the mortgage, travel to and from treatment, hospital visits, , help pay for family to visit and support us throughout the journey. Both of our families do not live in Wellington.
Remission 🙌🏻 4 March 2021
Hi 🙋🏽♀️ how’s it all going?
Sorry haven’t been in touch for a while, life has its ways of throwing curveballs here and there!
Quick update, Caroline has finally received the “remission” status after two challenging biopsies and being admitted to hospital after having an adverse reaction to the last biopsy 3nights in hospital 🙃
Apart from that, we have started a brand new chapter of just living life to the utmost fullest🌸
Thank you for being supportive throughout this journey with us, lots of love ❤️ Nastajia & Caroline.
