Another life that will be taken too soon by cancer. Lets give back to those who give to us!
Waikato
Sandie is a valued member of our team at St John ambulance station in Cambridge. Sandie works full time as an occupational therapist at Waikato Hospital and in her spare time she continues to give to others in her community as a volunteer ambulance officer. Very recently her family received some devastating news, her mother Barbara was diagnosed with terminal metastatic cancer. It has not been confirmed how much time Barbara has left to spend with her loving close knit family.
As station manager, I am well aware of how our volunteers give of themselves and their time and ask nothing in return other than to help make a difference in someone's life. I would like, with your help, to try and make a difference in this families life.
On the 2nd of April 2016 I will try to swim the 23km stretch of the Waikato river from Cambridge boat ramp to Hamilton Gardens. I have never attempted to swim such a distance before so this will be a big challenge for me. I have already been pleasantly surprised by the number of people wanting to join me on the river in a kayak to offer safety and support. Please show your support by donating as much as you are able to. Thank you.
