Re-carpeting of our beloved whare tupuna - Kahi.

Northland

Our whare tupuna, Kahi was built in the mid '80's along with the whare kai, ablution block and relocation of the whare nui, Mataatua.

All work was completed by whanau members and the Complex was opened Easter 1990.

Our carpet has seen 26 years of gatherings and is in need of well deserved replacement.

About us

Taiao Marae is located in North Hokianga in the Far North, on the tranquil shore of the Whangape Harbour.

We are proudly one of 3 Marae belonging to hapu, Te Uri O Tai, within the settlement of Pawarenga.

Happy to give a koha my husband Lou is from Pawarenga we live in Aussie and always look online to see what's happening bac there Lou's Marae is the Morehu but he said everyone from Pawarenga is connected to all the Maraes some was or another
