'Tama' will be shot on location in Northland town Kaikohe and will include many of the local people. The cast and crew will be made up of diverse people form the Deaf, filmmaking and Maori communities. The production team seeks donations to contribute to payment of the people involved - actors, crew, extras and the producers.
Odd Socks Productions provides advice to the arts sector on bridging the communication barriers that are experienced by Deaf in as arts practitioners and audience members; devises & creates performance and training opportunities for Deaf and hearing arts practitioners to work together; and produces inclusive and innovative performances which promote the understanding of Deaf culture and New Zealand Sign Language.
