Taranaki pensioner stuck living in a sinking house
Barbara’s house is sinking under her feet. She fears that she will be left with no place to live for the rest of her retirement.

Barbara Hardwidge is a 72 year old widow who put her life savings into a home for her retirement. Now she fairs she will be left with nothing because the house is sinking into the ground beneath her feet. This land was never fit to be built on and yet the NPDC signed off for the building of her unit.
Barbara lives week to week and can not afford to engage the professional services (Engineers/builders/tradesmen/legal) required to move forward so that she can have a safe home to live in to see out her retirement years.
