Funds for run. Support Parkinson’s and The Dairy Goat Trust. Vick, Vaughan and I will do the hard yards in training and the hills on the day
Waikato
My awesome wife decided we needed a challenge... a BHAG (big hairy audacious goal). Next thing I know three of us are training for the Taupo Ultra. My wife Vicky, best mate Vaughan and myself.
We have done a number of half marathons but this is a major step up. Keen to use this event as a fundraiser for some of our favourite charities:
Parkinson’s NZ and The Dairy Goat Co-Operative Trust. More on them below
Two charities that hold a special place for us.
We have two friends that have Parkinson’s so get to see the great support and research underway to understand the disease, improve lives and work towards a cure.
The Dairy Goat Co-Operative Trust was established in 2017 with the aim of strengthening shareholder communities through charitable donations which nourish and care for future generations.
The Trust’s primary source of funding is its farmer shareholders, supplemented by contributions from fund raising events involving Dairy Goat Cooperative staff, shareholders and goods/services providers. Funding is focused on organisations in shareholder regions, ie Northland, Taranaki and Waikato, which aim to improve the health, education and welfare of children. Trust fund recipients are identified by the Trustees.
Funds will be split 50/50 between the two charities
All funds go to the charities
