Providing rehab, recovery, and respite to those with physical or psychological injuries from safeguarding and caring for New Zealand.
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
After the great success of the 2023 event, guess what is back!? But this time, even bigger!
The Tauranga Firefighters Inter Station Relations is the culmination of 15 minutes of planning & countless beverage fueled conversations about how the Firefighters of Tauranga could strengthen their bonds with each other whilst also keeping fit & raising much needed funds for a brilliant charity that is close to their hearts, Te Kiwi Māia.
Dunnie, Ashley, Derryn & Andrew have asked us to set up this page for them so they can raise funds for us! Isn't that awesome?
They will be asking friends, family and total strangers to give what they can to support this very important & sadly all too vital charity. But they know nothing should come for free, so to earn that hard earned coin they will be completing a marathon on the 29th October by any means possible.
Some will run, some will bike, some may skateboard, some will cry & a lot may eventually crawl but they all will complete a 42km course between Greerton, Tauranga, & Mount Maunganu Fire stations to push themselves & support the incredible humans doing fantastic things for our defence force & first responder whanau.
To increase the awesomeness of the day, they’ve even wrangled in firefighters & supporters from Hamilton, Kawerau, Rotorua, Gisborne and Taupo to improve their collective relations
Please if you can donate what you can to our fundraising for Te Kiwi Māia - & maybe come along for some beers and blister popping after the event!
Providing rehabilitation, recovery and respite to our people, who - as a result of their role in safeguarding and caring for New Zealanders - have physical or psychological injuries.
Funds will go towards Te Kiwi Māia and the great work we do for our first responders and NZDF personnel. Thanks team!

Message from Dunnie
"Emily’s area of expertise is in the shipping and boating industry but in her downtime she often ponders what would happen when this concoction was shoveled into the gobholes of some of planet earth's humans. Well due to her being one of the fantastic people that have donated to Te Kiwi Māia she has found out.
Life on Earth is dry……..really dry…sometimes hard to swallow…and a little nutty. It has crunchy bits and some unexpected spicy parts. But if you are doing life with other great humans it’s a giggle and nowhere near as bad as you perhaps thought.
Our highly tuned specimens have completed another Friday 5km preworkout experiment in the lead up to the big event on the 29th of this month.
Te Kiwi Maia Firefighters Interstation Relations Marathon will have career firefighters and some of their whanau pushing themselves to together complete all or part of the 43km between Tauranga Fire stations. The goal is to strengthen relationships, push themselves physically and mentally, as well as raise funds for the equally incredible team at Te kiwi Māia, so they can continue supporting NZ’s Defence force and first responders to be their best.
If you can spare any of your hard earned cash please click on the link, and if it’s a tenner or higher you could be picking next week's pre workout.
Thank You so much to those that have already donated or even shared our posts. You are all truly great Humans." - Much Love Dunnie
