Celebrating Blakes short Life and giving him the farewell he deserves
New Plymouth, Taranaki
Blake is 19years old and currently planning his own funeral after receiving news that his cancer is now terminal and has been only given a few short months to live.
Early in 2023 Blake began to have increasingly bad back pain. It was disregarded by professionals on multiple occasions as sciatica and he was sent home again. It wasn't until pressure from family and himself upon an urgent visit to ED in April that an MRI was performed and a mass was discovered near his spine, crushing nerves and strangling organs. This turned everything upside down for Blake sending him to Auckland and then down to Palmerston North for over 10months to receive "the hardest Chemo known to man" (doctors words).
Despite all of this fatiguing treatment the cancer (Ewing Sarcoma) has spread throughout Blakes body and is now progressing to cut his life short.
I have created this page as like most we never expected this to happen and are not financially prepared for his funeral. It is an incredibly stressful time and I am trying to reduce the stress around one of the hardest times families ever have to face and so we can celebrate and say goodbye to Blake in the way he would like us to.

Goodbye Blake 27 August 2024
It is with heavy hearts and sadness I have to share this update. Our brother Blake passed away at his home on the 25th of August surrounded by some of his most loved ones. He fought hard and had the best care from his amazing partner Lisa.
Thank you for all of the support, care and love from each and every one of you.
