The Hundred Jump Project - NZ Record Skydive Attempt

On Monday December 3rd Christchurch based skydiver Steve Gregor will attempt to break a New Zealand record by completing over 100+ skydives in a single day, to fundraise for the Canterbury Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

2 planes, 3 pilots, 1 hot air balloon, 6 parachutes, 1 jumper and 40+ ground crew will work seamlessly together over a 15 hour period to safely and successfully complete what will be the ultimate skydiving marathon. A perfectly rehearsed symphony of parachute packing, plane flying, jumping, landing and repeating will take place for Steve to safely achieve an average of 1 jump every 5 minutes from sun-up until sun-down.

This extraordinary feat is taking place to fundraise for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and is endorsed by the Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue - a copy of this endorsement letter can be found on our website. The trust needs to raise $7million every year from the community to continue to provide the air rescue and air ambulance services, and our team wants to play our small part to help towards this goal.

All funds raised over and above the cost of the project will be gifted to the Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue by electronic deposit before the end of the following month. The grand total donated will be proudly advertised on our website and social media pages. If the project does not go ahead for any reason, all proceeds will go directly to the Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue.

The air rescue services are approximately 50% funded by government, so the Trust relies on community donations, corporate sponsorships and events such as this to help raise money every year.
