I was dismissed for whistleblowing when a colleague committed suicide. I took & won the court case but legal costs were initially incurred.
Nelson / Tasman
I was dismissed as a whistleblower after a work colleague died suddenly in 2011. After 3 years, I won the unjustified dismissal case. Unfortunately, I had initially engaged a local employment lawyer but she turned out to be yet another barrier to justice and I had no choice but to conduct my own case.
The local lawyer, whom I had initially engaged to assist me, did little but hinder proceedings for 3 months and subsequently presented me with a bill for some $11,000! I have fought this as much as possible through the various available legal channels but, regrettably, the New Zealand judicial system now dictates that the remaining $6,000 must be paid.
I need your help (just a little) to pay these costs - money I don't have as a retiree living solely on a pension. When I am released from this financial burden, I am still very committed to taking a firm stand on the matter of workplace bullying, a cause that is very close to my heart.
I would be enormously grateful for any assistance you are able to offer and you can be assured that any monies that you donate will be an investment in the future of New Zealand.
Let's stand together and wipe out this insidious bullying plague that is the scourge of our nation!
Many thanks
Robyn
I engaged a Nelson employment lawyer as my representative to defend my employment position when I came under attack after I became outspoken following the suicide of a colleague in 2011.
To pay a Nelson employment lawyer for her services prior to my actioning a self-litigated personal grievance action. Any surplus will be donated to the Anti-Bullying Council for the continuation their work to eradicate workplace bullying in New Zealand.
HELP WIPE OUT BULLYING IN NEW ZEALAND 27 September 2018
Workplace bullying is causing misery, illness, economic havoc - and even death - in this country.
Without the few individuals who are prepared to stand up and attempt to make a difference, nothing will ever change.
I am prepared to continue my fight to expose the perpetrators and bring about legislative change to effect greater accountability but I cannot do this with a legal bill (incurred through my having fallen victim to an employment lawyer prior to taking court action as a self-litigant) hanging over me. I have fought for justice in this regard but, with our judicial system being in the shape it is, this has been unsuccessful.
Only a fraction of the support necessary has been forthcoming so far. If you can donate even $10 you can rest assured that your money will be invested in the future of this country.
Thanks in advance ... Robyn
