Faye Cran Secondary School will be built in a community in desperate need for such and will compliment a pre school and primary school.
International
The school is to be built in Meru in Arumera County of Tanzania in recognition of Faye Cran's life work for the poorest of the poor in Tanzania.
The school will have at least 8 classrooms, a staff room, a laboratory and a library/reading room.
The project will also acknowledge the devotion, encouragement and support that Faye Cran received without reservation from her late husband Derek. They were an awesome team. It is intended to dedicate the library to be known as Derick Cran Library.
As is good development practice the school will be built with the needs of the community paramount with local supervision, labour and materials.
Donations are sought large and small and recognition will be made of major donors. Each donor giving US$50,000 or more will have part of the complex named in recognition of the gift and all donors whose gift is more than US$5,000 will be included on a Donor Recognition Board.
Many New Zealanders have visited Tanzania during the past 15 years as donors and volunteers. Like all her international visitors they have experienced Faye’s generosity, hospitality and energy as she chaperoned them to the dozens of projects undertaken before and during that time.
