Tony’s fight
Bowel Cancer treatment unfunded. Trying all we can to fight!
WaikatoIn early 2018 our family received the horrible news that our father had bowel cancer, as devastated as we were, the bright side was that it could be removed and was considered curable, after a rough time of multiple surgeries, radiation and Chemotherapy He was given a tick till we get an annual check up, 2 months ago on the 7th of may dad had his CT scan, on dads birthday the 8th of May we got a call that Oncology needs to see him. This is where we got the horrible news that his cancer had spread to other parts of his body. I have made this page in hopes to help with funding specialised drugs that are not funded in NZ, the first one we will be trying is cetuximab and if this is not successful we will be trying Bevacizumab, this will be costing around $50,000 for the drug and hospital costs just for the first round, we are starting chemo the 28th of July so we are hoping to do all we can. all funds will be used for dads treatment and Recovery. At 54 Years young there are still many things dad is fighting to live for!

Other medication options 29 July 2020
Yesterday we found out the cetuximab we were hoping to start for dad is no longer an option, dad will be meeting up with a private oncologist to discuss other options. At this stage Avastin is still on the cards. Thanks for all the support!
