Hi, My name is Toto!
I am a Cairn Terrier with a whole lotta love to give but unfortunately my body just can't keep up. I live in a flat with 5 wonderful humans who provide me with all the cuddles a pup could ever dream of. I have a beautiful yard to roam, neighbourhood cats to torment, and many cozy beds to sleep in. Life is lush, life is beautiful but it hasn't always been this way.
As a pup, I was adopted by a couple. Soon after my arrival into their lives, a tiny human appeared. I was no longer given the cuddles or love I deserved, instead I was forgotten. One day a miracle appeared. A beautiful lady saw through my stinky, dirty matted fur. I jumped up and down and cried out. She cuddled me and asked if she could bring me home with her for the weekend. My parents said they didn't care so she took me away. I'd never been in a car before, I was so sick on the car-ride to my new friends house. I vommited all the way.
I was cleaned up in no-time but had to return to my parents. I waited and waited for my new friend to return and one day she did. I didn't have a leash, I'd never been on a walk. I wasn't spayed or vaccinated, in fact I'd never been to a vet. I didn't know what toys were, play was a foreign concept. My new mum gave me all the love I needed and more. She kept me clean, fed me and took me walkies but most importantly she was patient with me. She taught me how to play, how to use a staircase and how to trust again. I am not the puppy I used to be. I am brave and caring. I love everyone I meet and always provide a fluffy shoulder to cry on anytime my friends are in need.
The world works in mysterious ways though. I've been in and out of vets with an endless list of medical problems. Every pup doctor is baffled by my case. I've been close to crossing the rainbow bridge too many times but I am too strong to give up. A recent scare meant vet bills beyond belief. My family won't give up on me for which I am grateful. Everyday I'm given a cocktail, not the fun kind my mums enjoy no, this cocktail is a carefully assorted mixture of medications. My pill organiser can barely close! These medications will be a daily routine for the rest of my lifetime and this is why my family and I are asking for your help. Any donation big or small is going to help my mums afford to keep me in good health.
Toto is my beloved dog.
The funds raised will go towards Toto's weekly medication she will be on for the rest of her life. It will also help us cover the large specialist vet bills.
