Barnabas and Grace's NPO Touch Family needs your help in bringing peace and love to families in Auckland!

Auckland

In 2003, Barnabas gave up everything he had established, most notably his then-successful career at a university in Korea, to move to New Zealand. He had one goal: to become God's humble servant. However, when he lost his loving wife of 25 years to cancer, he gave up his studies at the Laidlaw with great sadness to take care of me, my sister and other children under his care.

His second marriage with Grace happened before my sister and I were ready and it began to break our family apart. We were still in the process of acceptance of our loss and to us, the new family was too overwhelming. It was during these difficult years that Barnabas decided that he will dedicate his life to rebuilding broken families like ours and helping them to create healthy relationships. After 10 long years of detours and delays, he was officially anointed as a pastor and immediately left the church to start a NPO to help out local families in Auckland.

I wasn't very cooperative when Barnabas was trying real hard to make things work. Despite all the things that I could have helped him out with, I ignored his needs while justifying my choices with my independence from him. I was afraid to ask for help and to give help. But now I have leant to reach my hands out and the first thing I really want to do is to help my dad and his cause.

The NPO is called Touch Family (https://www.facebook.com/Touch-Family-%EA%B0%80%EC%A1%B1%EC%84%B8%EC%9B%80%EC%84%BC%ED%84%B0-177253509706054/).

It's founded on the belief that healthy and solid relationships individuals build is the foundation on which families and, in extension, large communities are built. They provide counselling, mediation and structured seminars for new and old couples as well as families. Currently, Touch Family is operated by just Barnabas and Grace in a small space kindly provided by a local automobile service centre (although they're really grateful for the generosity, the location is not really ideal for a quiet conversation or a seminar!), and only offers Korean service to the local Korean community. Their long term goal is to expand into other communities as well, but is currently finding it extremely difficult to get things to kick off.

If you can see how important Touch Family and their goals might be in this community, please help me to help Barnabas and Grace who gave up everything to establish this NPO to see the families and in extension, the world, change.

Andy Ha's involvement (page creator)

Barnabas is my father, and he recently started an NPO called Touch Family based in Auckland. The organisation dedicates itself to rebuilding healthy and happy families, first in the Korean community and eventually in the wider multicultural communities.

Use of funds

Marketing expanses, operational expanses (purchasing essential devices, internet, preparation of learning materials, petrol, etc) and relocation (current space has no independent water supply or toilet and is extremely noisy during the day).
