Help Tracey to continue her fight against stage 4 breast cancer so she can continue to be the amazing Mum she is to her two boys
Bay of Plenty
Please help our best friend in her mission to beat stage 4 Breast Cancer.
Tracey is a single Mum of two boys aged 15 & 12, both boys are talented hockey players and play in both school and rep teams. Tracey is their number one fan and is always on the sideline rain or shine. As Tracey's family all live overseas, she is very independent and rarely asks for help.
Tracey is the most positive and inspiring person we know, and although she is fighting a terminal illness, she is always willing to help others and goes out of her way to do so when she is able. Tracey has so many friends that want to help her and this is our way of supporting her in her fight.
Tracey was first diagnosed in June 2012 with stage 3 Breast Cancer and underwent 6 months of intravenous chemo, followed by a Mastectomy and radiation while also having Herceptin. Tracey then began a long term course of Tamoxiifen thinking that her breast cancer fight was over.
However sadly, within less than three years (April 2015), Tracey's cancer was back, this time stage 4, it had metastasized into her sternum. Tracey has since been undergoing further chemo, but unfortunately the cancer is still progressing, and has now spread to her pectoral muscle and lung .
Sadly, Tracey has now run out of treatment options here in NZ. Her only option is to give up and let the cancer win or fight and raise money to enable her to pay for unfunded treatment here in NZ or overseas.
There is no way Tracey will give up, she has two boys that need their Mum around for many, many more years.
Tracey is constantly undergoing scans, treatments and often painful and scary procedures. Her many friends here in NZ and her family and friends back home in the UK feel helpless and wish we could do more to help. However, we feel that by creating this page and attempting to raise funds in order for her to continue her fight, it is a positive way for us to show Tracey how much we support and admire her.
Tracey is one of my closest friends and I want to support her in any way I can.
Pay for unfunded treatments in NZ and overseas, pay for travel and accommodation costs should a drug trial become available out of NZ.
Emotional Week!! 2 August 2017
Well what a roller coaster of a week it has been. Firstly last Thursday I had to sit my gorgeous boys down and tell them that the Oncologist had said that if the current treatment I am on doesn't work or if I don't do any treatment I may only have 6-12mths to live. How incredibly hard this was to do, luckily I had one of my best friends here who also happens to be an oncology nurse. My boys are very brave!! HOPE was restored today when I had a huge donation come in :) this made me cry <3. There are some very kind and caring people out there. xx
Hey guys, thank you so very much for your kind and generous donation. It is so much appreciated. love Tracey xx
