Tauranga South Community Patrol
Tauranga South Community Patrol act as the eyes and ears of Police by patrolling the streets in our community both day and night.
Tauranga South Community Patrol is a group of dedicated volunteers who's desire is to help our Community become a safer place to live. We do this by assisting our local Police.
As a non profit organization we are seeking your assistance to help fund our operations.
While we take every opportunity to fund our own groups activities, costs for our operation continue to rise. Our desire is to put out more patrols so we can be more effective in our efforts to help Police keep our community safe.
We have an office and dedicated Patrol vehicle that is based at the Greerton Police Station. We need to keep refuelling and servicing our vehicle to stay on the road.
Having more people out on patrols means we will incur higher running costs. These costs need to be met and this is where you can help.
At times Police resources can be stretched. If we have a patrol out we are often able to assist in an incident and free up a Police unit to take care of more pressing issues in our community.
Each member of our group is vetted and trained. Training comes at a cost.
The equipment we carry in our patrol vehicle also gets out dated and needs replacement.
You can help to make a difference…. Please support us in our efforts.
A message from:
(Snr. Sgt. Mark Pakes, Sub Area Manager)
“The expansion of the Tauranga South Community Patrol into the area of daytime patrolling of our shopping centres and communities adds considerable assistance to local Police. Foot patrols by dedicated, vetted and trained Volunteers make our shopping centres safer. Patrollers are highly visible, accessible for advice and in quick
communication with Local Police. I’m grateful to the many Volunteers, willing to partner with local Police to make our shopping centres a better environment”.
We can and do make a difference in our community.
Help us to help you. Please make a commitment to help your community now.

As a non profit group we are dedicated, vetted and trained volunteers operating from the Greerton Police Station.
We act as the eyes and ears of Police by patrolling the streets in our community both day and night.
At times during the day you will see us doing foot patrols at the local shopping centres and when you sleep at night our patrols are active in the community.
We are in direct contact with Police while on patrol via radio and are able to report signs of suspicious activity. We also look for stolen vehicles and report these to Police.
While patrolling residential, business and industrial areas in our wider community we undertake surveillance and observation in all areas recording and gathering detailed information.
At times we are called on to assist when Police units are stretched. We attend vehicle accidents to provide traffic control so Police units can be freed for other duties. We look for missing persons. Assist with location of offenders and promote Crime Prevention in our community.
Please help us so we can help you. Our aim is simple... we want to make our community a safer place to live and we do this by helping the Police.
You can help, your donation will make a difference.
