Urgent: Storm, a loving family dog needs life-saving eye surgery, or face euthanasia.
Manawatu-Wanganui
Storm, a 1.5-year-old Shar-Pei/Labrador mix, urgently needs surgery due to a ruptured cornea caused by an accident. This procedure is the only option to relieve her pain and improve her quality of life. Without the surgery, Storm will face euthanasia, as without it she is in severe pain.
Storm is a beloved member of the Rodrigues' family, which includes Melissa (the mother), Jaxon (age 12), Ella-Rose (age 8), and Kayden (age 3). The family rescued her from the local pound in March 2024 after she was found wandering the streets. From the moment she joined their home, Storm knew she was home. She was immediately a gentle, loving pet, expressing her gratitude with endless tail wags and affection. She quickly settled into her forever home, bringing joy and love to everyone around her.
Losing Storm would be devastating, especially to the children who have formed a deep bond with her. If Storm is put to sleep, they would all experience profound grief as losing her would leave a significant emotional void in their young hearts.
As a proud mother with three young children, Melissa is unable to afford the cost of Storm's surgery alone. We kindly ask for your support to help Storm get the surgery she needs, and help her to live a long, pain-free, happy life.
Your generosity can make a significant different and help give Storm the chance at life she deserves, and spare everyone the heartbreak of losing their cherished companion.
In deepest gratitude for considering our request.
I am the mother of the beneficiary, and grandmother to the children.
The entire amount will be spent on Storms surgery and aftercare if funds allow.

Thank you all so much for your contributions.
We wanted to add a final update for you to see the results of your generosity.
Storm successfully had one of her eyes removed and we wanted to show you her happy face.
The surgeon noticed there was a slight issue with her good eye and did a minor operation on that at the same time, which you can see is bright and clear.
She is a (spoiled) blessed and very happy family pet - thanks to you.
You have helped save her life and created a lot of fun and joy for all the family.
In Gratitude.
Oh my goodness John! Thank you from the bottom of all our hearts, what a kind, compassionate and very generous person you are for helping to save Storm. You can be absolutely certain that it will all go towards her surgery. What more can we say, but "thank-you" In deep gratitude and appreciation.
Thank you so much Evette, your contribution is gratefully received.
Oh my word John, that would be amazing! Unfortunately what we can afford has already been spent on vets consultations, x-rays and pain relief, hence creating this Give-a-Little page. If you were able to top up Storms Give-a-Little to what you can afford, based on what is requested, we can, absolutely, send you confirmation of payment from her vets to confirm that it has been spent on her surgery. That would be such a wonderful gift for all concerned. Thank you so very, very much.
Thank you so much for your generous donation towards Storms surgery. It is very much appreciated.
