Cyclone Pam struck Vanuatu on 13 March, devastating the farming community our mother works with through VSA.
International
The cyclone has caused significant and widespread damage to Vanuatu, including to the livelihoods and households of the farmers Jill supports in her work with the Farm Support Association (FSA).
Given the current uncertainty about the extent of the damage to Vanuatu, it is challenging to know where our financial contributions will be most beneficial at this stage. We will work with Jill and VSA to determine as to the most effective use of your contributions to assist the FSA and its community. This may prove to be to the wider recovery effort for Vanuatu. We will keep you updated as we learn more.
Our mother, Jill Greenhalgh, is on assignment in Port Vila in Vanuatu, working with the Farm Support Association. The best way we can support Jill is through supporting the farming community of the Farm Support Association.

One week to go 13 April 2015
Kia ora everyone,
Once again, thank you for your support. It's incredible to see that with one week remaining for the fundraising, we are very close to hitting the five thousand dollar mark thanks to your generosity.
You'll be pleased to know that your contributions will be going directly to the Farm Support Association, the NGO Jill works with. They are really well placed in the community with great networks and processes to ensure that the money is wisely spent to enable farmers to get re-established. Jill's current focus is on chickens and crops - just imagine how many seeds $5000 will buy!
You might be interested in a couple of blog posts that Jill has written about her experiences - the photos are really worth looking at too to get a better understanding of the cyclone's impacts:
