The only public playground in Vava'u Tonga is in need of a renewal - and we've got the time to do it.

We arrived in Vava'u, Tonga, about a month ago, and found the library playground in a sorry state of disrepair! As far as we're aware it's the only public playground in Vava'u, so for mothers with young children an important meeting point and since no one has put their hand up to repair the equipment we thought it would be nice if we took care of the project - since we have the spare time to do so.
It's important to us that the equipment used is of decent quality as they are obviously pretty well abused up here - it's the only public playground we're aware of here!
We will be here till Christmas. The playground is managed by the Vava'u Community Library, we have authorisation from the Community Library to proceed with repair work. If we don't get to the $3000 goal we will continue with the work, although it may be to a lesser extent.
I am not directly involved with the library but saw a need to help out. Just a recent arrival to Vava'u trying to help out!
The money will be spent on new swings, new slide, freight, concrete, wood for decking and ladder to deck. Any excess funds will go towards renewing the playground at the Hosea christian primary school.
