Vegan Billboard in Hamilton AGAIN!

Last year, Starfish Bobby Calf Project installed the first pro-vegan and anti-dairy billboard in the history of New Zealand.

It caused a huge uproar in the farming community, was acknowledged by DairyNZ and had a lot of positive feedback from the general public. Our website's daily views skyrocketed during the time the billboard was on display.

We want to do it again.

The vast majority of bobby calves are killed during winter in 'calving season'. The numbers are staggering. We want our billboard to be re-installed in a new, more central location in Hamilton during the height of calving season in response to this

We will be re-using the same skin so this will save us approximately $400 off the total cost. Billboards are one of the most effective forms of advertising, with the potential for thousands of kiwis to see our message on their daily commutes.

It is easy to get trapped in a world of social media and we can forget how hard it is to project our message beyond our small online bubble. With a billboard, we are stepping out of the small leagues, and are taking on the animal industry and their fancy PR companies at their own game.

Based in the heart of the Waikato region, Starfish is perfectly poised to tackle dairy farming. We rescue a small number of bobby calves annually that would have otherwise ended up in a slaughterhouse.

Through the Starfish project, we raise awareness to the cruelties of the dairy industry and also give people the chance to connect with the calves on a more personal level. The dairy industry is cruel and unethical and needs to stop. We have a moral obligation to speak for the millions of animals used, abused and exploited every year.
