I've always dreamed of studying in Wellington but with the cost of my accommodation increasing, I won't be able to afford to without help.
Wellington
Studying, working and living in Wellington has always been a dream of mine.
Wanting to pursue a degree in International Business and Cultural Anthropology, Victoria University has always been the only option for me in terms of where to study. Both Wellington and Victoria have amazing opportunities available to help set me up for a successful and fulfilling career. From the best Cultural Anthropology courses in the country to the VentureUp programme and internship opportunities at the likes of TradeMe, NZTE and Creative HQ.
These opportunities wouldn't be possible if I stayed in Auckland but it's looking like it might not be possible for me to move to Wellington on my own.
My first choice of accommodation at Vic, 222 Willis, recently became senior students only. This meant that I instead could only stay in the catered halls which, while amazing, cost thousands of dollars more per year than where I had been saving up to stay. Thousands of dollars that a full-time High School student isn't able to save alone.
I'm already working part-time, selling what I can and searching for extra work over Christmas but even that isn't going to cover the difference in cost. I'm very reluctant to ask for help but it looks like there isn't any other option at this point. I would really appreciate any support in helping me reach my goal so that I can afford my new cost of accommodation.
This campaign is intended to help me be able to afford to attend university next year.
The funds will all go towards my accommodation costs for the Victoria University Halls of Residence next year. If I exceed my target any surplus will go towards accommodation for the following year.
