Help us achieve our dream playground

Wellington

We need your help to raise the final $100,000 we need to create a destination playground to complete the Waihinga Centre for our children.

As we all know, free, unstructured play has profound benefits to children's physical, emotional and cognitive development and with your help we can create and build a dream playground in Martinborough which will capture the imagination and excitement of children from near and far.

In particular we are raising money for the water play area.

We are the Waihinga Charitable Trust and we are fundraising for this amazing new addition to the South Wairarapa. We will look after the funds and distribute them to the South Wairarapa District Council as the project progresses.

About us

The Waihinga Charitable Trust is raising money for the Waihinga Centre - this includes the renovation of the Martinborough Town Hall, a new multi-use building (housing the library, information centre, toy library, plunket rooms), outdoor event spaces and a destination playground.

Stage 2 given the green light  1 July 2019

We got permission from SWDC to start work on the playground last week. We have raised enough funds to do the basics and we will get this work completed. We are still raising money for the water play area.
