Wainui Swim Raft
To purchase or building a new SWIM RAFT for the residents and visitors to Wainui Bay, Akaroa Harbour

On Sunday 7th January 2018 Wainui beach experienced unusual 3m plus swells breaking onto the beach. One particularly large wave turned our swim raft on its side and smashed it to pieces.
Although fascinating and dramatic to watch the power of nature it was heart breaking for locals and beach visitors alike as it is used constantly through the summer by visitors and community groups.
The raft was owned by the WRA with assistance from the WAINUI YMCA CAMP.
Use of funds
WRA will design and build a new raft for public use
