MOVE FOR MENTAL HEALTH.

We know just how beneficial exercise is for your physical health, but often we forget that it is also hugely beneficial for our mental health too! There is stacks of evidence of these benefits, but its not until you truly commit to an exercise challenge that you really know just how good it feels! Every challenge we run, we are flooded with testimonials on how our 6-week challenge have helped them improve their self-confidence, mood and energy levels #warmfuzzies. Mental Health is important to us here at Snap Fitness, that’s’ why we’ve created this page to raise awareness and funds for I am Hope and to also transform our members lives through health and fitness.

In 2018 New Zealand lost 668 people taken by suicide. Amongst this number is 137 children and young people. These figures can no longer be ignored or swept under the carpet by those who champion the “stay silent on suicide” mantra. The youth are in limbo waiting up to six months to receive the counselling they need for which I am Hope aims to change. Snap Fitnesses across the country will be co-ordinating a “Walk for Awareness” on Sunday the 6th October to commemorate the lives lost to suicide and raise awareness on the need to speak up about NZ mental health issues. Head into your local Snap Fitness for more information!
