We would like to make this distressing situation a little easier
Canterbury
Hey thanks for reading our story we are writing for our sister Cheryl.
On the 8th of February 2019 Cheryl was admitted to Timaru hospital with flu like symptoms, only to discover a mass the size of a tennis ball on the right side of her upper torso after 7 nights in ICU away from her family (distressing on its own).
On day 5 Cheryl was told she has lymphoma cancer & also an unidentified mass the size of a tennis ball placing pressure on her lung, thorax & heart!
Cheryl will be travelling to christchuch hospital with her husband Paul every third week to undergo her chemotherapy for 1 week, 23 hours a day. When she returns home she has to travel to timaru every second day to be monitored. This will continue for 6 months with 6-8 blocks of treatment. Cheryl has had to stop working for now and Paul (bless is little cottensocks) is working when he can but 90% of the time is beside cheryl supporting her on this journey. They receive no fiancal help from the government.
We are hoping that with the help of you wonderful people we can make this experience less distressing for Cheryl Paul & her 4 children.
