We need to raise money for surgery to save a beloved stray cat called Weirdy Weirdy Meow Meow who has a pre-cancerous nose and ears.
Auckland
Weirdy Weirdy Meow Meow is a very special cat whose story has touched the hearts of many animal lovers. Abandoned on our street as a young cat, he has lived rough for an estimated 10 years. My former flatmate awarded him with his unique moniker due to his habit of walking alongside residents and visitors to the street and meowing to them. Many (including myself) have tried to adopt him but he prefers to be outside as much as possible.
Thankfully, Weirdy has survived through the generosity of the cat-lovers on our street. But now he needs serious help. We took him to the vet today to treat a wound on his jaw and the vet says his nose and ears are pre-cancerous and need to be operated on as soon as possible. He says it will cost about $400. If there is any extra I am happy to cover it. The vet says if he is operated on in the next two months he will go on to live a good life for a few more years, but if not, he will develop cancer and have to be put down. Weirdy is such a lovely cat, an icon on our street and a joy to so many people, and we would all love to keep him around.
I am one of a few people who feeds and does their best to take care of Weirdy the cat. I have done so for the past four years.
We hit the target! 13 February 2016
Hello generous donors - we have hit the target already! Thank you so much for your generosity - thanks to you we will be able to book Weirdy in for surgery much sooner than we thought. I'm so overwhelmed by everyone's generosity and anything left over will go towards food for Weirdy and any additional bills or fees incurred by the surgery.
Thanks again, you are all amazing and have saved a life. x
