Fundraising for South African Occupational Therapists to be able to afford to attend a Congress held in their own country.
Wellington
The World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) Congress will be held in Cape Town in May 2018. Unfortunately there are many Occupational Therapists living in South Africa who cannot afford to attend.
We would like to enable more South African Occupational Therapists to attend this conference, to be able to represent their country by presenting their research and practice and to be able to network with other Occupational Therapists around the world – in doing so they will share their practice with others and also learn from other Occupational Therapists - all with the common goal of enhancing their skills and knowledge which will help the people they provide occupational therapy to.
Please help us by making a donation. Occupational Therapy New Zealand Whakaora Ngangahau Aotearoa (OTNZ-WNA) will ensure this money helps our South African colleagues to attend the WFOT congress.
If we combine our efforts to support those to attend the congress in their own country, we will also be supporting the congress theme - "Connected in diversity: positioned for impact".
Occupational Therapy New Zealand Whakaora Ngangahau Aotearoa are involved because they represent Occupational Therapists who are strong advocates for occupational justice. Those who know of the efficacy of occupational therapy will understand the value Occupational Therapists bring to the health and well-being of society. For more information regarding Occupational Therapists and the profession visit www.otnz.co.nz.
Funds raised will be used to fund South Africans who otherwise can not afford to attend the WFOT 2018 Congress in their homeland to do so.
