To educate the public on the signs and symptoms of all 5 gynaecological cancers, and in turn reduce statistics of late diagnosis.
Nationwide
FACTS:
There are five types of gynecological cancer, most women can only name one.
Ovarian Cancer
Cervical Cancer
Uterine Cancer
Vaginal Cancer
Vulvar/VulvarCancer
Pap smears only detect one of the five types, the other four are not/cannot yet be screened for. Your only chance of detecting them early is by knowing the signs!
It's frightening that most women aren't informed nor knowledgeable about the signs of gynaecological cancer. Knowing the signs is fundamental to a women’s wellness and chance of survival.
We are 'Talk Peach'
Talk Peach’s vision is to create awareness and educate the public on the signs and symptoms of gynecological cancer.
Our founder Tash Crosby, was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2016. She is one of the very lucky few diagnosed at an early stage.
Tash has survived ovarian cancer. She is aware of what needs to happen in order to educate the public and is using her personal experience to highlight the importance of early detection. For the past two years Tash has campaigned to raise awareness in order to reduce late diagnosis.
Tash has been the spokesperson and the face of the 'Look Good Feel Better’ charity. She has featured in Look Good Feel Better’s print campaigns across the country, their website, and Youtube videos. She has spoken at their training workshops and their collaboration events with Benefit Cosmetics, Karen Murrell lipstick, and at the Green Pharmacy Groups expo in Fiji.
Tash has spoken numerous times on television and radio, and conducted print interviews. She was invited to speak at the Government health talks in September this year, where our concerns were validated by how little some women in government knew of their own anatomy, and of the signs of gynaecological cancers.
At Talk Peach our goal is to use our passion and drive to continue to educate the public. We want to reduce late diagnosis, and to have greater systems in place to empower and support those women whom are diagnosed.
The short-term goals are to have an easily accessible, educational, and support-focused website; to deliver gynaecological cancer awareness talks in woman-dominated workplaces; and to have a strong social media presence with a focus on raising awareness of gynaecological cancer symptoms.
Be part of a life saving powerful movement in women’s health. We are open to talking to anyone in more depth in person, by phone, or by email.
"It’s imperative we are talking, all women must be armed with the tools to take care of their bodies, and advocate for their wellbeing"-Tash Crosby.
