WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT FOR ST JOHN FUNDRAISER

$4,409 of $50,000 goal
Given by 86 generous donors in 5 weeks

Fundraiser for St John Central through a world record attempt of most Canyon Swing jumps in one day!

Otago

Our mission is to raise at least $50,000 for St John Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes District to aid in funds for the much needed Cromwell Station ($3.2million) and a new ambulance ($225,000 fully kitted out for operation).

St John relies on the great fundraising initiatives of the public to operate and look after our community. They need to average the equivalent of $57,000 PER DAY to maintain and upgrade their equipment and fleet, so we're stepping in to do our part to help those who help us.

On a recent film shoot, friend of the company Jason Medina suggested swinging as many times as possible in a day to raise money and awareness for a good cause. What started as a spitball idea grew to the ambitious goal of raising $50,000+ and completing up to 100 canyon swings by Medina himself.

Jason owes his life to both local St John paramedics and police officers and wanted to give back through a way that helped him recover from his own struggles with mental health issues. “If it were not for heroic efforts of the Queenstown Police and St John officers I would not be here today. I’m humbly grateful to be able to participate in this event to be able to give back and inspire others that a glimmer of hope can be found in the darkest of places”

While the day has a serious message, there is also an element of fun in the fundraiser to raise awareness of the great work St John does and the importance of looking after mental health.

We are down to our last day of donations for our St John fundraiser. Now that doesn't mean it all stops, you can still donate and even run your own fundraisers for St John, they need our help so donate where you can.

It was almost two weeks since Jason Medina did his record of 100 Canyon Swings in a day. Check out the video to enjoy how it went down.
