Chaelim found a lump on her breast last year when she was carrying her 5th child. She didn’t want anything to impact the health of her unborn baby so she chose to delay treatment until after the birth. Unfortunately, it was a fast growing mass, which resulted in an immediate mastectomy. Just recently she found another two lumps which were removed in November. During a follow up CT scan, two spots have now been found on her lungs. She has been advised that the lung cancer is incurable.
Currently she is undergoing radiation at Palmerston North Hospital, 2 hours drive from her home.
This wonderful young mother home-schools her two older boys, while also caring for her three younger girls, is forever loving, bubbly and positive. She is extremely private and would never ask for help for herself – so we are, her extended family.
There are many costs that her and her husband will struggle to cover, and this situation will not only continue but increase over time. We don’t want this added stress for her. In fact, we hope that with your generosity, there may even be a surplus so they can enjoy some special times together and make beautiful memories. We love her dearly, and naturally we’ll be doing whatever we can to support her, but if you can spare a few dollars, this would make a huge difference to the quality of Chaelim's life.
Thank you in advance, and blessings to you and your family.
We are Uncle & Aunty to Chaelim she is the first girl mokopuna (grandchild) in the family and very special to all of us.
Money will be used for; travel & accommodation to and from the hospital - there may even be a surplus so they can enjoy some special times together and make beautiful memories.

We would like to thank you all for your generosity in donating to help Chaelim and her family during this time. Chaelim and the entire family are overwhelmed with the response to our Give a Little Page. They would like to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of their hearts for your support.
Chaelim is having treatment and is taking one day at a time with an awesome positive attitude. Spending time with her family is the priority for her and staying upbeat for the children.
Every donation big or small is helping us to take a little bit of the financial strain away from them as they make as many memories as they can with the time they have. If you could please share the link on your Facebook page that would be appreciated. every little bit helps towards the family.
God bless and thank you for your support. Paula & Eugene Tuhaka (Aunty & Uncle to Chaelim)
