Koha and prayers for baby Zachariah and whānau
Manawatu / Whanganui
On Monday 10th August, 2020 at around 12:19am, Aaron and Elisha Williams welcomed the extremely early arrival of Zachariah Moses Williams.
Zachariah was born 15 weeks and 5 days early at Palmerston North Hospital. He weighed a whooping 560 grams. In the early hours of Monday morning he was flown to Wellington's NICU where he will remain until at least his due date which is late November. He may end up staying there longer as there maybe further health issues that may need treating due to being born so early.
We are raising funds to help Aaron and Elisha with any financial burdens as Aaron has taken 2 weeks unpaid leave from his job. This could end up extending out longer. While there are parental leave entitlements, having both parents not working could still end up being a struggle with a very early prem baby. This will also allow them to both be involved with learning about his care as this is going to be different to the care required for a baby who is near full-term birth.
Please keep Zachariah, Aaron, Elisha and big sister Riley-Jane (who is still in Palmy without Mum and Dad) and their wider whānau in your prayers.
Update (15-08-2020): Aaron's employer has decided to pay Aaron for last week and decided to put Aaron on "discretionary leave" for at leave for at least the next two weeks. This means this will not impact Aaron's annual leave. This is an awesome gesture from his employer.
I am Elisha's dad, Aaron's father-in-law and proud Poppa of little Zachariah.
Funds raised will be used for any travel costs, bills, food and any other unforeseen financial burdens and towards any future necessary care or treatment for Zachariah.
