January 2013 Scorecard

While New Zealand was at the beach, 1231 online donors donated $107,430.51 to 157 kiwi causes on Givealittle.co.nz. That’s 3 times more than January last year.

Average donation was $82 and the largest single donation was $10,000 made to help little Jesse Bessant get to treatment in the USA for his inoperable brain stem tumour.

There were 12,654 visitors to givealittle.co.nz and the grand total jumped to $2,820,386.91.

Top beneficiaries of January donations were:

1. Rodney Gordon Trust by the Auckland Grammar community
2. Help the Prebbleton Fire victims by Selwyn District Council
3. Friends helping friends by Nick Marshall & Ben Roberston

There were 27 charity champions in January. Our favourite had to be the stellar efforts of Auckland mum Elaine Webb. Elaine ran 750km to raise $11,000 for Auckland Neo Natal Trust to pay forward the support she received during her premature baby son’s 51-day stay.
