Our Tamariki face many obstacles in this ever-changing world so we are inviting people from across the region to Drop for Youth!
Our young people face many challenges in this ever-changing world and we want to help prepare them to overcome any obstacles they might face while also empowering them to make the most of their futures. In order to give our tamariki and rangatahi the best chance in life that we can, we are asking the local Northland community to take a leap of faith for us... 12,000 feet into the air!
We have partnered with Skydive Bay of Islands to offer an adrenaline filled fundraiser. You'll get to experience the thrill of a lifetime jumping out of a plane at 12,000ft while soaking up the scenery of all 144 islands that make up the Bay of Islands. The view is guaranteed to take your breath away! You’ll also get to help tamariki and rangatahi in the Far North at the same time as ticking skydiving off your bucket list. And, if skydiving is just not for you, you could also gift your skydive for a young person to have this epic experience!
Every dollar raised from this event will be spent on our school-based programmes working alongside young people in our most vulnerable communities. Our proven programmes are sequenced to create a positive vehicle for change for young people aged 5 to 18 years old. This is what we call the 'Transformational Journey' – a journey that helps our young people become more confident and resilient, find purpose and direction to achieve success.
Our Drop For Youth skydives, and the fundraising they generate, benefit over 1,000 young people participating in our programmes within our region and help effect a profound positive impact on their lives and the wider community. We are so proud to be a part of making this change and encourage you to join us in improving the lives of our tamariki and rangitahi.
Drop for Youth Far North 14 October 2021
Drop for Youth Far North It was an amazing day to Drop for Youth. The weather was beautiful and our 10 amazing Droppers had a great time at Skydive Bay of Islands. The smiles were huge as each one landed. We are so excited that we reached our target of $15,000 and would like to thank all involved for making this such a huge success. Over 1100 tamariki and rangatahi in the Far North will benefit for the funds raised.
