A fundraiser that challenges FYD corporate partners & business leaders to nominate their boss to ‘drop’ (abseil) off the Fire Service Tower.
Nationwide
Many of our young people face various challenges every day. Support our local Southland youth by getting behind your ‘boss’ as they tackle their own challenge of being ‘dropped’ (abseiled) from the Fire Service Training Tower on Jed Street – that’s 5 terrifying storeys high.
All money raised will go towards delivering FYD programmes Kiwi Can and Career Navigator in Southland.
At FYD we believe it is important that we not only do good, but that we can also prove the difference we make. Our programmes change lives and are informed by best-practice research.
Kiwi Can is our energy-packed values and life skills programme, aimed at kids aged 5 to 12. It teaches values such as integrity, honesty, resilience and respect (to name a few) and delivers fun-filled learning to several primary schools throughout the Southland region.
Career Navigator is a ready for work programme that supports secondary school students in their decision making around future employment while also providing an effective platform for employers to share real-world knowledge and experiences.
With our university research partners we know our programmes;
- Improve attitudes and behaviour
- Improve academic results
- Help young people set and achieve their goals
- Boost self-confidence,
- Reduce truancy rates and at risk behaviours: such as substance abuse,
- Help young people feel more positive about the future.
You too can be part of that change and help the young people of New Zealand.
