250K steps. One month. One life-changing challenge. Step towards a healthier you 1 – 30 November.
Nationwide
Diabetes NZ has partnered with Fitbit to create the ‘Step up 250K Challenge’, taking place this November over Diabetes Action Month.
We encourage you to take part in this challenge by taking 250,000 steps – that’s about 8,300 steps a day. By taking part and raising funds, you will not only feel stronger but be contributing to changing people’s lives. All you need to take part is a Fitbit, or the free Fitbit app on your mobile phone, or a pedometer or step tracker. There’s no minimum amount to fundraise, but we challenge you to raise $75.
Almost 280,000 Kiwis have diabetes, with a further 100,000 people predicted to have pre-diabetes or who are at risk. Every dollar raised from this fundraiser will go towards changing the lives of those affected in NZ, and to promote healthy lifestyle habits, which have a positive effect on the prevention and management of diabetes.
To celebrate the challenge, Fitbit is offering 20% off the full Fitbit range. To purchase a discounted device, please head to www.fitbit.com/global/nz/store/dnz/welcome, and use the discount code: diabetesnz20.
Take part in the 250K Challenge and step with friends, family and whānau to get fitter, have fun and to raise money for Diabetes NZ.
