Registrations for the Hubbards Head2Head Walk 2016 are now open.

- This is the Diamond Fundraiser for the OKE Charity

- OKE grow mighty kids by providing fruit and vegetable gardens to schools, i.e. garden beds, greenhouse, toolshed, tools and lots of support to ensure the school gardens are sustainable

- The #1 Goal for OKE is to get all Primary/Intermediate Schools in Papatoetoe growing fruit and veggies by 2018, through their Growing A Future initiative.

Auckland’s first and only 24 hour charity walk, the Hubbards Head2Head Walk (#H2HWalk), will see a record number of people take on the 125km challenge around the Manukau Harbour on the weekend of 12th and 13th November, to support OKE Growing A Future initiative.

The course is 125km in length and is designed to be tackled by teams of 5 in a relay format. Each team member walks one of the five legs of 25km. The #H2HWalk starts in Orua Bay atop Awhitu Peninsula on the south side of the Manukau Heads and finishes 24 hours and 125km later at Huia in the Waitakere Ranges.

In contrast to similar charity walks, the #H2HWalk has been created to achieve the #1 Goal for OKE, to get all Primary/Intermediate Schools in Papatoetoe growing fruit and veggies by 2018, through their Growing A Future initiative. In 2015, the charity launched the “Growing A Future” project at Papatoetoe West School, helping them to build an amazing fruit and vegetable garden and providing all the sustainable resources to help it thrive. Funds from the 2016 Hubbards Head2Head Walk will support more of these projects at schools in Papatoetoe, Auckland.

Paul Dickson, founder and Chief Go Getter of the OKE Charity says the event provides an opportunity for people from across New Zealand to do their bit and take part in a fundraiser that is giving back where it matters most – in their own community.?? “The Hubbards Head2Head Walk is a big walk making a big difference. The impact that 24 hours of effort can have on the lives of kids in our neighbourhood, schoosl and community is immeasurable.”

“Once again we have Hubbards on board as our principal sponsor, a local organisation who are equally dedicated to making a difference in our community”
