Move 4 Māia to help raise funds for Child and Youth mental health. We challenge you to run, bike, walk - move to show your support.

Canterbury

Since 2018 there’s been a 140% increase in demand for Child, Adolescent and Family (CAF) outpatient services. That's an average of 385 young people being referred for acute mental health care each month, on top of the service’s existing caseload.

The average age of a child referred to the service is 12, with the service receiving an average of 57 emergency presentations each month.

Māia’s current major project is to help create a modern Child, Adolescent and Family outpatient facility - Kahurangi. Kahurangi will be a state-of-the-art, purpose-designed sanctuary for our young people to receive mental health outpatient treatment. It will be light, bright, and welcoming.

Kahurangi has a $13.5 million price tag. Māia has agreed to fundraise $6 million of that which will ensure the new facility is world-class. We have $1.9 million left to raise. YOU CAN HELP US REACH OUR GOAL!

Improve your mental health while making a difference in the lives of others!

Here is a starting point: 385 young people are being referred for acute mental health care every month so... Challenge yourself to complete a physical activity related to the number 385, such as running 3.85k, cycling for 38.5 minutes, or doing 385 jumping jacks!

Make your health goal a personal fundraiser, ask friends and family to donate and help us support these children and their families. Let's take steps towards better mental health together!
