Auckland

On the 14th of October 2012 , our lives were forever changed when we gave birth to our first baby, Maddy, at 16 weeks. The loss and heartache we felt in the days, weeks and months following was something I can't even comprehend. We were often made to feel like we shouldn't talk about Maddy, because it would make others uncomfortable, but when you lose a baby all you want is to be able to say their name out loud and to recognise the life that was growing inside you. Baby Loss NZ gave us so much support in our darkest days, they were able to give us precious memories and keepsakes of our baby which we will forever treasure. As much as we wish there was never a need for Baby Loss NZ, there always will be families who have to experience this unimaginable grief of losing their precious babies. So in memory of our daughter Maddy, and all the other babies who have grown their wings too early, we have decided to Shave our hair to raise money for Baby Loss NZ so that they can continue to give other families the memories that we will forever have.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
