Variety has teamed up with NZ Fishing Media, hosts of the NZ Fishing Competition, so that anglers nationwide can do their part to help children and young people thrive in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

We would like to encourage as many anglers as possible to fundraise during the fishing comp and help us raise even more money to support families in need.

Every day, 1 in 5 Kiwi kids go without the basics most of us take for granted, including food, clothing, shoes, school uniforms, stationery, or medical and mobility essentials. This has a profound impact on their health, education, and well-being.

Food insecurity is the everyday reality for most of the families Variety help. Shockingly, only 1.2% of these families are fully food secure.

Proceeds from the Variety Fishing Comp, including the $80 entry cost, will go directly to providing grocery gift cards to families in need.
