Men are dying too young. We can’t afford to stay silent.
Wellington
The 12 week challenge begins!
Yesterday, a group of 5-6 of us (injuries pending) have decided to present ourselves with a challenge that would both keep us reasonably fit in between football seasons, but also and more importantly, raise some awareness and funds to be donated towards the well deserved Movember charity.
For the next 12 weeks, between the 5/6 of us, we will run/bike/swim 1,600km. The length of New Zealand!
This breaks down to approximately 300km each. Sounds reasonable, and sounds doable. But the consistency to get out and do it every single day will be the main challenge.
We have decided to donate any money we make to the Movember foundation to support mental health & suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
Before you ask, yes Josh and Rory will be shaving their beards!!
Why are we doing this? Because we can. People tend to not ask for help, so we’ve decided to eliminate this and help anyway. We’re hoping that this challenge will not only raise money to go towards this cause, but will raise awareness and bring light to the issues so many people face in silence.
But it’s not all about money! This means more. If you can please like, share or follow this journey then that’ll be equally as amazing because raising awareness and understanding is a huge part of this. So thank you in advance for even reading this.
Along with this challenge we want to extend our services to anybody and everybody. It’s too easy to post something nice on social media to look and feel good, but we’d like to offer our time and efforts to this challenge and those in need. So in the most honest and sincere way possible, please reach out to one or all of us if we can help in any way possible. If you need a shoulder to lean on, we’ve got 12 of them 👍🏻
You’ll never walk (run, swim, bike) alone.
A group of mates who want to raise awareness for Mens Mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
