Playing 72 holes of golf in a day to raise money for Mental Health
Canterbury
I'm sure everyone has or has been close to someone who has battled with mental health and it is so underfunded in New Zealand. So, I'm going to try my best to raise some money to try and get this issue known.
I've personally been down the track of trying to see a counsellor to get myself back on the right path, but the waiting times which it takes to get into that office, is way too long for anyone's liking (unless you have the funds readily available to go private). It's not only terrible for the person that's affected by 'the black dog' but it impacts everyone around them, so it's something that needs to be sorted PRONTO!
Personally, I found an outlet in sports, so why not combine them to raise money and awareness.
I will be playing 72 holes of golf in 1 day (12th of December) to try and raise awareness. If anyone knows me, it could take 2 days due to my lack of golfing skills, but I'm 100% willing to give it a crack. A few close mates will be joining me for 18 hole stints as I make my way around the course.
PLEASE PLEASE, if you have any spare change lying around, I'd greatly appreciate the donations and honestly, it couldn't go to a more deserving charity.
Also, big shout out to Everglades Golf Course, for allowing us to do this. Wouldn't be possible without them!
