Auckland University Judo - 50 Randoori for Christchurch

$880 of $1,000 goal
Given by 13 generous donors in 14 days

Auckland University Judo will be sparring for 50 rounds to raise funds for Christchurch victims.

Auckland

Kia ora everyone,

The tragedy that occurred in Christchurch last Friday was an atrocity that should not have happened. As a multicultural club, we felt that we had to do something to help out and thought we could use judo to do so.

Basically, from 12pm after our usual Saturday technique session, to raise awareness and collect donations for the official Christchurch Victims Fund, we will be setting the dojo timer for 50 x 4 minute rounds (1 round per victim).

The goal is to have people doing randoori for all 50 rounds (ideally at least 3 pairs on the mat at a time). It will be a mix of tachi-waza and ne-waza (groundwork) rounds (so BJJers, feel free to join in!). Anyone wishing to participate or spectate just needs to add a donation (either in cash or through this GiveaLittle link below. The more people we get, the more money we can raise and the fresher the rounds will be.

For anyone who is unable to participate or spectate on the day, feel free to donate to our cause anyway. If you are coming by, we'd recommend you bring a deck chair and maybe hydration for the participants!
