Name: Malcolm “Flying Knives” Johns

Title and Company: Chief Executive, Christchurch Airport

What is your cooking experience: I did some cooking in hotels when younger, but mainly it is home based.

What would your cooking signature dish be: Sunday breakfast crepes, which I learnt during my hotel days. My kids love them and my son has just learnt how to make them nice and thin.

Why are you cooking to help disadvantaged Canterbury children get a fair start in education: Everybody deserves a start in life and children’s education is incredibly shaping of their future lives. It’s a no-brainer to support!

What does being part of Bayleys Plate Up for a Purpose mean to you and your organisation: It’s a great opportunity to give back and it sounds fun (and don’t let any chief executive taking part tell you it’s not competitive).

How can the general public help you: Donate, donate, donate…
