Raising money for SPCA New Zealand by boxing in the Dunedin Casino Pride of the South Charity Event.
Otago
Hi my names Mark by day I am dad to two amazing boys along with my partner. I have always liked the sport of boxing for as long as I can remember, so when the opportunity arose to fight for a local charity of my choice I decided it was the perfect opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and fight inside the ring as opposed to refereeing from the couch at home.
In preparation for the fight night I have taken part in a six week boot camp at NZ Fight and Fitness Academy and from there I was selected from a number of people to enter the second boot camp of four weeks that leads right up to the fight night.
The boxing event is hosted by The Dunedin Casino, Pound for Pound Promotions and NZ Fight And Fitness Academy on the 24th of November. We have been asked to pick a local charity to set up a give a little page for and I have chosen SPCA New Zealand which supports SPCA's throughout New Zealand including Dunedin.
I have chosen the SPCA they have been something I have always supported, all my animals have been adopted from them and I feel that they do an amazing job at caring for and rehoming animals that need someone to speak for them.
SPCA Otago has been the voice of animals welfare in the Otago region since 1882. Together with their generous supporters they continue to work hard to improve the lives of animals in their province. SPCA works with the community to prevent cruelty and encourage the humane treatment of all animals. Every year they care for thousands of animals that have been neglected, abandoned, injured and abused. They rescue animals from harmful situations, attend animal emergencies and investigate numerous complaints about animal cruelty.
I am boxing in the Dunedin Casino Pride of the South Charity Event and am raising money for SPCA Otago.
