Harcourt Gloves Up| Fighting for our Rangatahi/Youth Mental Health - I am Hope & Gumboot Friday
Nelson
In 1992 I lost my second oldest brother to suicide, In 2005 my brother 2years older than me never recovered from Mental Health and sadly found deceased in a small stream in Rotorua, NZ.
This has given me a reason to participate in this event to raise awareness but also raise funds to support our rangatahi/youth who are experiencing mental health concerns. Our Youth are our future and we need to ensure they receive the support they need to thrive in life including mental health.
Over the next 12 weeks leading up to the event in November. I will be stepping out of my comfort zone to join others from our local community here in Nelson and Richmond to train hard and step into the ring on Thursday 7th November. Every jab, drop of sweat and bruise will be an honour of a bigger cause than ourselves, raising awareness, breaking down barriers of mental health concerns for our young people.
I’m honoured to be given the opportunity to participate in this event but the team and I can’t do it alone. Please back me up as I fight for our rangatahi/youth, the now and the future of our community. Together we can punch above our weight and make a real difference.
💙 All funds raised on this page go directly to Gumboot Friday
💙 Every $138 raised = 1 Free counselling session for a young person
💙Let’s fight together for our rangatahi/youth
Gloves Up for Youth Mental Health 3 November 2025
Thank you for your support so far. Not too far to go and I’m excited for the opportunity to step in the ring to support our rangatahi/young people. Mental health affects our young people and we want them to know that they are ok to talk to someone about it, someone who they trust, a health professional who is trained in mental health and get the support they need. Please help me help our young people by donating to this event. Blessings
